The original MX5 instrument cluster is mounted in the centre of the dash. In some respects using the original will simplify the wiring and help to overcome some of the electronics, however it also has problems as I need to somehow turn off all the warning lights that will appear eg doors open, airbags deployed, boot lid open etc etc etc........ The original MX5 steering wheel provides paddle shifts for the six speed auto and also controls for the standard cruise control, but I will not be using the stereo controls!
